  2. Kame09 says:

I prefer the “Cat Rotisserie” myself. The oven just dries the meat out.

  3. ShadowSplicer says:

    HOLY CRABAPPLES! IT BURNS!!!!!

  4. Kame09 says:

    Here Shadow, Shadow, Shadow.

  5. kat says:

and wtf is “sporing” for that matter?

  6. Vasanti says:

Oven for use by Kitteh only, no hoomin allowed.

    • skippyman2099 says:

I’z in my kitchun, makin browneez

    • CheezburgerFanatic says:

My kittehs just found a second use for the oven – every day, I find jingle balls underneath.

    • lexan D says:

Yes and if the cat has kittens there remember that doesn’t mean they’re biscuits.

      • Kame09 says:

        MMMM Kitten fritters. :P

I have a friend who has had like 5 cats since high school. I also have a friend whos family would make deer jerky (it has a unique and yummy flavor). We gave my many cat friend a piece and after she said she liked it, we told her it was cat jerky and she panic’d and freaked out. We told her it was deer the next day but she hated us for a week.

        • la conejita says:

She hated you for being a jerk-y

          • ShadowSplicer says:

That joke was all dried out!

            • la conejita says:

Would you like to meat me and say it to my face?

              Wait, on second thought…..

              • ShadowSplicer says:

                Yes.

                • bluejade says:

                  Tough.

                  • Kame09 says:

I would be interesting to actually see the faces behind goofy, odd shaped avatars of Engrish :)

Lets see, now please don’t take offense if I’m wrong.

Conejita: Im picturing somthing close to the avatar but sans the ears. (If im wrong about the ears, sorry.)

Shadow: I picture a slightly skinny white kid. (All home school kids I’ve met have never been overwieght, due to parental guidance on diet. I did know a homeschooled kid who was literally orange because his parents go him on the habit of only drinking Carat juice. After a year of soda and water he turned normal.)

dr handle: I picture a 30 to early 40′s tanned (Australia gets plenty of sun) female, light brown- dark blond hair.

JohnB: I picture an late 30′s early 40′s white male average build.

bluejade: Not sure. Asian or white female.

                    lexan: Not sure. Definately male.

Paws: Not sure. you dont post as much so I don’t remember, sorry.

                    PoodleGroomer: same as above, sorry.

Let me know how far off I might be.

    • Bartsmom says:

      Iz making biscuits. Purrrrrrr Purrrrrrr

    • dr handle says:

Iz in ur oven, baking mai noms.

  7. klara says:

A cat in the oven would just be cruel, a waste of good meat. I’d like mine ‘a point’ with bearnaise sauce. And no hair of course

  8. Humerus Fracture says:

Was that Hello Kitty or Good Bye kitty?

  9. bluejade says:

The cat oven seems like a useless extravagance, but how much is the AC sporing?

  10. rewboss says:

That is funny, but I’m also genuinely wondering what it could be. Might “cat” have something to do with a catalytic converter?

  11. bobblehead says:

    cat means paint LOL

    • runlevel0 says:

Yeah, it comse fomr an ancient Indonesian tradition of using cats for painting: They poured a bucked of paint on the cat and the cat got all pissed of running like crazy and this is how they painted small interiors in the good old times. For bigger surfaces the tool of choice was a cow. Once during the XII century they tried to paint the palace of King Nanga-Tanga III whit this method using a whole herd of cows which went all mad and ruined the whole palace wreaking havoc trough the whole island of Java, and this is how stampedes where invented!!!

  12. guybuddy says:

A cat oven is a catalytic oven where a catalyst material is heated by natural gas and the catalyst then bonds more o2 to the exhaust gases making more heat. It is a very efficient way of making heat. Its like the catalytic converter on your car but for cooking.

  13. Sailor_sega says:

I guess A.L.F. visits there often.

  14. smadge1 says:

    Kittens give Morbo gas.

  15. Benthehen says:

It could have been worse. It could have been much worse. It could have been Jew Oven… Alright, that was bad. Lord I apologize, be with the starving pygmies in New Guinea.

  16. Cindy says:

    “Cat” in Indonesian means “paint”

  17. Reza says:

I’m Indonesian and this is how this ‘cat oven’. ‘Cat’ is Indonesian word for paint. after you paint a car, you put the car into this ‘cat oven’ and heat the car so the paint will dry faster. it works kinda like oven, that’s why it’s called ‘cat oven’

and ‘sporing’ is Indonesian typical typo for spooring. spooring is realigning car’s steering system so the car won’t go sideways when it’s supposed to go straight

    • Anna Rexia says:

Thank you! I thought it looked familiar but couldn’t quite place it. In the US, it’s simply called a wheel alignment. I like the word “spooring” better. It’s shorter, and sounds funny. =)

  18. Reza says:

I’m indonesian and this is how this is how this ‘cat oven’ works. ‘Cat’ is indonesian word for paint. After you paint a car, you put your car in this heating room and heat the car so the paint would dry faster. It works kinda like an oven, hence ‘cat oven’

And ‘sporing’ is a typical typo in indonesia for ‘spooring’. Spooring is realigning the car’s steering system so the car won’t go sideway when it’s supposed to go straight

  19. dr handle says:

Well, if you want to powder coat your cat, you have to bake it in a kiln afterwards. It’s unlikely that the average person has a suitable appliance in their backyard, so it’s best to get this done by a professional for optimum results.

Either that, of this is what happened to Fuzzy. Damn you Cyrus child!

  20. Ray says:

Don’t worry about the cat oven, I have one and love it.

    WTF is AC / Sporing?!

    • reza says:

      AC: air conditioner
      Sporing: explained above

Basically it’s just mean they can do spooring and fix the AC in your car

  21. Leia says:

    I’m Indonesian, live in Depok
    We love cats <3
    They're delicious :p~

  22. Captain Obvious says:

  29. MM says:

  31. Snookie_Townshend says:

  32. Chistopher says:

When life gives you cats turn them into ovens :p

  33. lexan D says:

    Google it

  34. CoolCat says:

Cat in Indonesian Malay means Paint (pronounced chat)
They meant to say Paint Oven. (for painting cars)
    AC Sporing is Air Conditioner.

  35. Nicovagu says:

    It’s just like Alf. Lol

  36. Blackrat says:

In the Indonesian alphabet, “c” is pronounced like “ts,” as in “tsi tsi fly”. So it’s not so much “cat” in the Western sense but “tsat,” meaning “paint” in Indonesian. “Oven” is actually meant in the literal English definition. “Cat oven” refers to a service performed by auto body companies where “cat” is applied and then one’s car is put in an “oven” to set the paint and give it a glossy finish.

  37. KingJulian says:

where you cook cats, duh. (poor kitty)

  38. I can haz deth by fire?

  39. myria says:

CAT OVEN (pronounced: chat ophen ) , and it has nothing to do with CAT (felis domesticus)

  40. d'cat says:

    you guys r so serious about cat oven, duh! ^^;

  41. falsecetto says:

im sorry to ruin your laughter, but “Cat” in Indonesia means “Paint”. Oven still means oven. Its used to paint over cars.

Still when i first came to indonesia i thought of the same thing lol

  42. ShadowSplicer says:

  43. ShadowSplicer says:

    Um… Kame? Get the explosives.

  44. JohnB says:

Well, it appears old Schroedinger has upped the ante over the old cat-in-the-box trick. Now we not only have uncertainty over whether the cat is dead, but whether it is done.

  45. Kame09 says:

    ………*BOOOOM*………..

    *Reminants of “fdsfdsf” lay everywhere*

  51. Edward says:

  52. wrap star says:

Those Indonesiens are way more advanced than western societies, instead of spending excessive resources on technology, they train cats to do the work.

  53. hakimachuko says:

otong, lu bener! kayanya org kampung lbh eksis deh, ya kan?

native didnt understand Indonesian and ur saying they are stupid?
so if u r smart can u speak more languages rather that english and ur stupid indonesian language? i bet u didnt speak german
n u must be an uneducated guy from lower class family
u r the stupid and retarded one!
    u stupid human

    • Paws4thot says:

I’m not sure about stupid, but rude certainly, posting in a language other than the main lingua franka of the site.

I don’t speak any Asian language, but I do speak or at least read a bit of, most Western European languages, and the point is that a sign which, when read in English, says “cat oven”, that is an oven for cooking cats in, inspires daft images in English speakers. You might have to explain them to us, but we’ll get just as many laughs out of something which is written in English, but produces a surreal image when the collection of letters are treated as an Arabic alphabet representation of Indonesian.

  57. hakimachuko says:

edward told u that it means “painting service” n u guys keep asking us “what is cat oven? do we cook cats? thast sick. thats yummy” n so on,

    now, whos the REAL idiot?

indonesians r much better, n no we r not stupid, if u think that we r stupid then, test your own knowledge first!

  58. cruzo says:

    awww…. c’mon peoples
no need to flame each other laaaa….
    we’re here to laugh.
i’m an indonesian myself, and i also laugh heartily when i saw this picture in here. up until now, i never realize the meaning of that sign when looked from the english language perspective.
i do admit it sound’s funny when we say it in english language.
while when in indonesian language, it sounds normal, though, so i never realize it until now.

  59. wahoo says:

Just like Bat – Oven. but with cats.

  60. ohdeargod! says:

oh dear god would you just stop it people?! otong, hachimachuko sama siapa lah itu (emphasis on Otong), udah deh -.- nggak ngebantu juga loe comment kayak gitu disini, yang ada malah insulting & annoying banget. Non-Indonesians: Okay so you basically got the meaning of “cat oven” and “ac spooring” please leave it at that and don’t add fume to these ignorant miscreants. where the f*ck is the moderator here?! >;(

  61. Kit-Tay says:

Uhh… actually “cat” means paint in Indonesian. It has nothing to do with cats or kittens.

For otong and hakimachuko, you two should be ashamed of yourself.

  62. jean says:

  63. rickyD indonesianesia says:

1000s ways to wok your dog

    • Paws4thot says:

One of my friends once wrote a recipe for “Kentucky Fried Dog”; we never actually used it though.

  65. anne says:

Cat = Paint , in Bahasa Indonesia
So, this should be Paint Oven, often used to give the body works of cars and its parts a shiny surface :)

this one does not qualify as Engrish. People just need to be aware that the Alphabets are not just used for English. Other languages use them too….

  66. Whatcamallit says:

    *Facepalm*

  67. Ari Gold says:

    what that means?

thats cruel how u put a poor denfendless cat in the oven

  69. BBBDaman556 says:

  70. theman says:

Lol…even though i know the real meaning…it’s still funny…and besides…it’s their fault for mixing indonesian wit english on the same sign.
