    How do you make a mistake like that when “L” is halfway across the keyboard from “R?”

      not everyone uses a qwerty style keyboard.

        It is clear that the confusion of L and R by Asians has to do with the sounds in the language, and not their proximity on any keyboard. If it were proximity on the keyboard, English speakers would be just as prone to doing it as Asians, and it wouldn’t occur in spoken language, where it certainly does.
