Male lockeroom. For those of you wearing dresses, we will provide you with a hanger to avoid any wrinkles.
For all the other males wearing man clothes just throw them in a pile on the floor.
Once, when I was three or eight sheets to the wind at a party that had been actually somewhat dignified until I got to it, I stood upon a coffee table and, I am told, sang “Some Enchanted Evening,” in a loud but fine baritone and doing a spot-on Ezio Pinza accent. The remarkable thing is that I don’t even know the words to “Some Enchanted Evening” and have never been much good at accents.
Actually those characters aren’t Kanji. It’s a little known Highlands character set called “ith mo bhríste gairid.” It reads, “Please hang kilts in here after bagpipe rehearsal.”
That’s the Chinese character for female. This is actually extraordinarily funny for an expat in China because it’s easy to envision the way it plays out every time an English speaker brings the mistake to their attention. Complete denial. It’s too bad they included a graphic.
For kilts only?
For kats only!
I’ll have to tell my friend Kathleen!
Before or after you take her home again?
I don’t know anymore…
And why the hanger? To hang the females outside? How sexist!
It’s for she-males. She-males can be very tidy with their clothing, hence the hangers. Don’t get your panties in such a wad.
The hanger is for abórtions, silly.
no it’s to hang their heads see it’s not attached to his/her’s body
Nah… It’s for men who don’t feel like using their hands.
What, they hold crochet classes here?
Maybe that is a list of services available in the mens locker room there. Hey, we have hangers for your clothes and while they’re off…
What’s up with the little *NYEH* over the O?
Male abortions? They must have a long reach…
This is NOT engrish, its a FAIL! >:l im getting fed up with this sh**
and so you are here and commenting, why?
Because this site used to be awesome and we’d prefer it go back to being awesome than just abandon it to the f-tards……
hey meankitty, there is a BLOG for this kind of stuff…. its called FAILBLOG!
… Dude, shut it. Don’t like the post? DON’T COMMENT. It is THAT simple.
Here, take this nice hanger as a gift; it will make you happier!
I suggest you no come to the site anymore. That’ll show ‘em!
Hey i love the Engrish on this site. But this belongs on FAIL BLOG!
Can’t we all just reach a middle ground? Let’s just say that this is both Engrish and a FAIL.
Thats why i like you. always having a win-win.
Or a Fail-Fail!
Relax.. the world won’t end. Someone takes this place a bit too serious. :p
What a strange coincidence; that’s exactly what I told ‘em at work today…
it is both…
the 1st symbol is standing for Woman or female
so it’s a translation mistake…so it does fit in both categories…
I think you FAIL! Not this post!
Male lockeroom. For those of you wearing dresses, we will provide you with a hanger to avoid any wrinkles.

must be for the big yen, go billy
The Big Yin …
No – it’s Japan, so he’s the Big Yen.
The kanji says female…
This is where it’s good to know Kanji. Woman, change, clothing, room. It’s the translation that fails horribly, not the graphic.
I can only imagine the hilarity this must cause. Maybe done on purpose for that very reason?
*nods* no where in there is there the kanji for “man”
someone really messed up!
Yep. It’d be terribly confusing for anyone who doesn’t at least know the “woman” kanji.
hehe and I only ever learned that one from watching a bit too much Ranma 1/2
Uncle Malcolm, I don’t think you should actually go in there, kilt notwithstanding…
But I must go, Lassie! The bagpipes are a-callin’ me!
Hmm is Malcom a scottish name?
Yes; when Uncle Malcolm has a bit to drink, his accent becomes so impenetrable that he sounds like he’s speaking Indonesian.

You must have been doing psychic channeling, and the ability is suppressed unless you are drunk.
That would explain a lot about those years…
You can have a second career as a actor/singer. With the requirement that they let you get drunk before the show.
I thought that *was* a requirement for being an actor/singer.
Oh, I put on plenty of shows in those days. Too bad I didn’t get paid for them!
Maybe you can write it off as good will.
A real man can wear a skirt.
so can a real woman!
So can a fake woman.
So can dolls.
Real dolls, or fake dolls?
We must know!
Oh, sorry. Just dolls. Whether fake or real, can wear a skirt.
Tell that to GI Joe.
His plastic muscles are so manly! (In an doll sort of way)
‘Tell me, is anything worn under the kilt?’
‘No, it’s all in perfect working order.’
male locker room = 男更衣室
female locker room = 女更衣室
No engrish, no translation fail, someone fail and doesn’t add the “fe” before “male locker room”
Er… surely failing to add the ‘fe’ in front of ‘male’ is a pretty LARGE translation fail, and thus Engrish by definition?
Personally, I’d rather believe that it was a room for transvestites to change in.
Call me crazy, but translating “female” as “male” strikes me as a fairly big translation fail.
Agreed. Big translation fail. Of course, by definition, that also makes it Engrish.
A thought … could it be that the lockers are male?? Not receptive, female lockers, but something else entirely?
Maybe it is where the males lock up the females? Bondage room?
Let’s just say there are some things it’s better not to ask if you don’t roll that way.
They see me rollin’, they hatin’.
Another Weird Al reference!
Grrrr…oh well…….JUST WATCH THE VIDEO!
I don’t usually watch videos at work. If it is Weird Al, I’ve probably already seen it.
White and Nerdy.
Yes, yes I have seen that one.
Actually those characters aren’t Kanji. It’s a little known Highlands character set called “ith mo bhríste gairid.” It reads, “Please hang kilts in here after bagpipe rehearsal.”
I thought it meant “eat my shorts”
*Takes his shorts and eats them*
Bad ShadowSplicer, don’t you know where those shorts have been?
They could have been in tittie red riding hood’s story!!!
There’s one way to know.
Did they taste salty?
Please DON’T tell us.
More of a fishy taste.
gad, I hope those weren’t toilet sharks’ favorite shorts!
Hiya, fellas! Look, this is a bit embarrassing, but… has anyone seen my underwear?
8O….sorry.
I am pretty sure they weren’t toilet shark’s shorts!…………but they still taste fishy!………………….. 8D……oops.
Perhaps they were Spongebob’s.
the first chinese character means “woman”.
This is also a photobomb.
The image is clearly not a kilt, kilts are worn to just below knee length.
Can still appreciate the comic value though.
Maybe there’s a hot air vent blowing it up, like Maralyn Monroe?
Dam those hot air vents, sneaking up when you dont expect them and.. ohh actually thats quite refreshing.
That sounds like a load of hot air.
What exactly does “Must be Scotland” have to do with this image?
the real question is not why the man is wearing a skirt, it is why his head is not attached to his body.
