Apparently, it will make you slip.

  2. only me says:

    Socrates was right!

  3. laconejita says:

    It’s the domino effect.

    • grelbr says:

It’s the *reverse* domino theory. If you push over one non-democratic mop bucket, it will make the next one fall over, and so on.

  4. bodo says:

    It’s not for everyone.

  5. bradleyf81 says:

Caution! Democracy Ahead! Beware of falling Hopes and failing Changes!?

Just goes to show that democracy is the worst form of government, except for all the others.

  7. bluejade says:

Caution: “Democracy + Banana Peel” is what the sign is really supposed to say.

    • JohnB says:

That’s an awfully long banana peel. It looks more like a puddle of water. Maybe it represents NATO?

    • rand20019 says:

it says something along the lines of: caution, slippery ground.

i don’t speak chinese, but i speak japanese, and the characters are pretty close and have almost the same meanings, in many cases.

  8. Guess Again says:

Maybe the Chinese government is trying to warn people that everyone (including society) will fall if democraccy is instated?

  9. Guess Again says:

…if so, attempt at humorous propaganda win!

  10. dr handle says:

Could this be some sort of warning intended to let people know that a whole bunch of political canvassers are hiding just around the corner, waiting to pounce on unwary citizens around election time, flail at them with pamphlets, recite party line incomprehensible policy-speak at them, attempt to kiss their children and generally leave them even more befogged than before?

    • bodo says:

Actually, I believe it’s an attempt to show how Democracy is a slippery slo…wait, the line is pretty much level…

*HEY! Could we get someone over here please? We need to get this sign remounted! YES it’s urgent! Thank you! Ok, could you just mount it so the right side is lower…no, the other right side…that’s it, thanks…is lower so that it looks like the person is sliding down a slope? Thanks so much.*

      • PoodleGroomer says:

Democracy is straddling the fence so he can show he is not representing the other side. Prevarication is the ability to embrace both sides of the truth without stepping into it directly.

      • ydouned2no says:

“And now Mr. Democracy will demonstrate improper technique for using the waterslides.”

    • Queeno'sarcasm says:

I can’t believe they were, either.

      • dr handle says:

Oh, grud, Axl Rose, the love child of Willie Nelson. It’s true, go and compare them sometime: same red hair, same bandanna around the head, same nasal whining singing voice. Or they could be the same person. Has anyone ever seen them in the same room?

  12. Where is this? It looks like the lid of a washing machine.

  13. dukethepcdr says:

Modern day democracy is dangerous. True republics are much safer and less slippery.

  14. leomontag says:

I wonder why people slipped from a funny picture to politics

  15. anonimouse says:

In soviet china, democracy kills people.

  16. JohnB says:

I’ve got it! Democracy: where anyone can try water skiing, regardless of talent.

    Can anyone translate the Kanji?

Proof those Chinese really are commies O.O

  25. Democracy has spread fence so that he can prove he is not representing the other side. Dodge has the ability to embrace both sides of the truth will come directly.

Maybe the person is supposed to represent democracy and the water (or whatever that line is) represents danger, and it’s supposed to mean “Warn Democracy”.

    Slip-n-Slide FAIL (or WIN)?

  28. ydouned2no says:
