  1. Kim says:

I will be very very careful.

  2. griffinlady says:

    It’s almost a proverb… very zen…

  3. Doc says:

Not even in a backdoor? *

  4. Lefty says:

They OBVIOUSLY mean the big foam fingers that you get at sporting events. Duh. Sheesh.

  5. Sinatra says:

“A” door so this could be any door?

  6. PoodleGroomer says:

It does not take much finger to fill the gap between the door and the frame. The door will forge the finger to the exact thickness and spread it as wide as possible. Doors with a shearing action seal have a collection assembly that can be overfilled.

I know something of this finger and door interaction having had three fingers broken by an industrial door. Heavy door meet inattentive lounger/talker in the door. Placing fingers in the door jamb while the door is open really WAS obviously duh and sheesh. But I got to keep the fingers.

      • griffinlady says:

Doors like that hurt even if you don’t break a finger.

        Trust me on this… ouch

        • JohnB says:

I think there are plenty of people here who have had the experience of fingers getting crunched in a door, although most probably not as severe as yours. I recollect my fingers in the door of a 1957 Plymouth that my uncle slammed shut.

          • dr handle says:

It wasn’t named Christine, was it? Maybe it wasn’t your uncle’s doing…

            • Dreadful Spelling Sprite says:

All I know is we pushed it backwards about a quarter mile and my finger was all better. My friend Stephen King watched the whole thing.

  7. saywhat says:

PoodleGroomer, you’re sick. But I like it.

  8. Aoife says:

Then what CAN you fill with a finger?

  9. dr handle says:

I’m just disappointed that in this day and age, people actually have to be told overtly in a public forum how to behave around a door – When I Was Your Age, we all knew from very early on that it is NOT the done thing to knob a door, or fill it with a finger. Decent, well brought up people just had these things instilled in them. I dunno, the yoof of today, what are they teaching them? Where are their parents when they’re out knobbing and fingering doors? It’s disgraceful.

    • doctor duhandsheesh says:

And you, you young whippersnapper, show a little respect for those of us aged & ever so slightly senile citizens who accidently finger a door. The door snuck up on me, I tell ya! One second, there my fingers were resting gently in the door jamb (they didn’t teach ya about the door jamb, did they dr handle?) and the next – snap, snap and snap.

      • dr handle says:

There is an infinite difference between accidentally fingering a door, when you have no intention to do so (I’m sure that you were just MORTIFIED when it happened, and sent flowers and notes of apology to all who witnessed it), and yoof who think it’s really “tough” and “cool” to behave like this. Take note, young hooligans who go around shamelessly knobbing or fingering doors – it’s not funny and it’s not clever.

  10. A Noun says:

Oh no, flashback to my first boy/girl party during lights-out time…

  11. KinkyTom says:

Maybe that message is for Giants

  12. me says:

I think it’s not an easy job to fill a door with a finger…
but if one has thousands of fingers, (s)he can manage to do so

  13. Kaeli says:

It’s my door, and I’ll finger it if I want to!

  14. agentrok says:

My finger got crunched in a door once. It was painful. The sign is still legible. Obviously you dont want to put your finger in the door. Trust me,it hurts

  15. Hobbymetaler says:

maybe its a very little door, that can easily be filled by a finger

  16. Ash says:

This is one of those Engrish samples that I actually find more poetic and whimsical than incorrect. The grammar is fine, the spelling is fine, you understand the meaning straight away. In fact the only thing wrong with this sentence is that it isn’t the usual cliched warning you usually get.

  17. dragyngirl says:

Or a small door… ^^ Like Alice in Wonderland. “Eat Me! Drink Me!”
