    first!

  2. Jennifer says:

If only as much thought were given to human rights as to the pretty lawn…

    • JohnB says:

Yes, the Chinese (forgive me if it is not Chinese! Please!) display an amazing level of compassion for all living creatures, except, of course, for humans.

    • Jennifer says:

Thousands of families, inconveniently living at the site of the future Olympic complex, were hard
heartedly evicted with little or no compensation…to make room for this tender fragrant grass.

  3. giraffie says:

    The coldest story ever told,
    Somewhere far along this field
    The grass lost its soul,
    To a trampler so heartless…
    *hums*

  4. bonnabid says:

Every time you trample grass, a kitten dies.

  5. JohnB says:

Ah, yes, the memory of tender, fragrant grass… Like Colombian… I never stepped on it, although sometimes the supplier would!

    • buckinarut says:

I remember the tender fragrant grass that was more of the local hydroponic variety….very sweet, and so relaxing. It would have been so very hardhearted to trample upon it, so I did what I could so I could help it avoid such a fate.

  6. ... says:

That’s pretty good English (for them), actually.

  7. dr handle says:

Haven’t we already established that it’s all right, because grass groks being walked on?

  8. Droll not Troll says:

    Here I stand,
    So hardhearted;
    Fragrant grass
    Now departed.

  9. Caesar says:

    isnt it puff puff pass?

  10. FirstTerritory says:

Well. I don’t think I’ve ever heard the term “hardhearted” used before. Leave it to the Chinese. XD

    • Droll not Troll says:

You must be young, or living where English is not the first language. The term isn’t that rare. Used to be applied to stingy people like some landlords. There’s an old song called “Hardhearted Hannah”.

  11. Aubrey says:

We always said Hit Hit Pass.

  12. BlueKirby says:

    Aww, I think it’s cute.

  13. jes says:

hey, i know who took this picture….

  14. dr handle says:

Puff puff give – is this a more polite way of saying “give a fart”, as in meaning to care about something? More usually, “give a fart” is used in the context of not caring; perhaps exhorting someone to puff puff give is a way of saying that they should care about something:
“I don’t give a fart if it makes kittens die, I’ll walk on the grass if I want to”.
“Oh, puff puff give, those kittens are really cute.”

  15. PooptyPeuptyPants says:

What kind of an insensitive prick would do such a thing!

  16. Sarah says:

I guess “Keep Off the Grass” loses something in the translation.

  17. Mew says:

    …This grass isn’t smiling though.
