Oh, yes! I have loads of fun with it. Take, for example, “How do I love thee? Let me count the ways,” and translate that into Japanese and back, and you get, “Do I how love thee? Me permit the fact that it counts method.” I doubt that line would get me very far…

I so want to buy this. My Grandmother, from Glasgow, I don’t think was too fond of children. Whenever we would visit she would always say, “Make yourself at home, where you should be.” It took me to almost adulthood to realize that was not a traditional Scottish greeting. (Or maybe it was). I want that on a plaque too.

if that’s what they were doing here, then wouldn’t it say that in Spanish too? it says “Mi casa es su casa”, which means “my house is your house”.

If it was a joke, wouldn’t it say “Mi casa es mi casa”, so that it said the same thing in English, as it dies in Spanish?

It also translates “Pinche” as “puntures” or as “damned” depending on the context… which makes sense. I wonder what they were going for there.

I have a theory that aalot of these bad translations are the fault of Yahoo babelfish.

So I just checked, and Yahoo Babelfish translator does in fact translste “Mi casa es su casa” as “my house is my house”.

there is more:

the one in the middle right says ” I’m up to here, of the kitchen”
I cant really think a bad word that fits but it basically says that.

the middle left “I dont admit animals” or trans…literally “animals not admitted” the latter is a little more correct since this is meant to be offensive.

so yeah I guess they know, and they’re jokes.

now if they would of translated bien venidos as good arriving that would of been funny.
