I remember this. My mom bought this once.
Then what the heck IS it??
It’s tiny balls of a hygroscopic nature, like silica or something. When you soak them in water they balloon up to many times their original size and make brightly colored jelly balls. They are intended to be used as vase filler, as they slowly weep to keep cuttings hydrated.
The reality is frequently so much less interesting that the wild speculations invited by the text.

Can you give us evtl. some more information about it’s composition, toxicity or maybe a Material safety Data ( i am a retired chemist).
