    ‘Hock’ is a slang apparently used by less – educated people to replace the usage of the word ‘Hock’ in the Chinese Hokkien dialect, which simply means good fortune’. The origin of this Fortune Cat should originate from Japanese culture, but it is somehow adapted into Chinese culture lately…

    My son gave my sister this item and I’m wondering what the Neko MEANT to say when it said “happity and happy hocks”……my sister liked the box better than the waving! I found this page while trying to discern this….
