    My hamster wants this.

  2. Alexander says:

    From Wikipedia:
“Rodentia is an order of mammals also known as rodents, characterised by two continuously-growing incisors in the upper and lower jaws which must be kept short by gnawing.”

…will this be the effect of this special toothpaste?

    • tinascratch says:

That would be AWESOME! I would take blocks of wood to gnaw in the car.

      • Miss Antipodes says:

and I’d gnaw on my desk at work…give me something to do besides surfing Engrish and Failblog. That is, when I’m not working on my lolspeak Masters degree thesis.

  3. 6262 says:

Yay. Romanian products on engrish ^^

  4. lolbukkit says:

Assos makes sense if they are cigarettes. Cigarette smoking does tend to cause ass breath.

  5. Miss Antipodes says:

RODENT is the only brand of toothpaste that me and my cat can agree on!

  6. Pretentious White Girl says:

That’s even better than the “Pussy” air freshener.

  7. Obligated, safe. We never violate this privacy says:

    I don’t give a rat’s ass.
    ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

  8. Anca says:

The tooth paste is Romanian. RO comes from Romania. So this is not an Engrish. But I had a good laugh. :)

Assos is not Engrish either, but it’s still funny. :)

    • raccoon1 says:

      Thank you Captain Obvious.

Proves my point that Romanians are pretty slow and should stick to kindergarten humor like Nadia Whatsername.

      • Miss Antipodes says:

They do, however, have nice teeth. And Rodenty-fresh breath!

      • dani says:

        feeling lonley down there ?
and that’s not fair.picking on nadia.i can pick on a national hero from your country.
but i can’t, because you don’t have one.you might, if you could figgure out what’s county you’re from.how is it to call your mother aunt, or the otherway around for that matter?
you really don’t have to show how much of a smart ass your keyboard is.did you really have to pick on someone who seemed less inteligent than you? that’s low.and i’m an example replying to you
i’m going to cry now, because i took the internet seriously and it broke my heart

  9. TOM TRIFIK says:

    Small Print Reads:

    “pasta de dinti mentalato”

WOW! Mental Pasta in a TUBE! …. Right?

  10. Mortimer says:

    “Small Print Reads:

    ā€œpasta de dinti mentalatoā€

WOW! Mental Pasta in a TUBE! …. Right?”

    I’m from Romania…

pasta de dinti mentolata = mint flavored toothpaste
RODENT (as said before) means = RO(from românia, romanian)DENT(we name something you use for your teeth: DENTAR >romanian for DENTAL<, and, we abbreviated the word DENTAR to DENT)

And as for Assos… it’s the greek cigar brand

    • raccoon1 says:

Either all Romanians are descendants of Captain Obvious or pretty much every singe one of them is borderline retarded.

      • Anca says:

Do you really have to be like this? We are not retarded. No more than the rest of you, anyway.

This is not even funny anymore. So what if rodent means what it means in your language? There are lots of English words that have funny meanings in Romanian too. And we already told you guys that this is not an Engrish. So chill.

        • raccoon1 says:

I was talking about all you guys trying to explain to everybody that the joke is not a joke. That kind of beats the purpose of this website, which you guys do not seem to get. I guess you can blame it on communism, kind of makes you lose your humor, eh?

In other news, I couldn’t care less what you call your tooth paste, I’m not using it, nor do I plan on ever visiting your country to use it after gypsies robbed me of my Crest toothpaste. :P

          • Zan says:

racoon, you effin` xenofobe… you have something against romanians? or all humans, seeing how you`re the rodent. the point of the site is pointing out jokes like “have some. making you better feeling” or other such mistypes. as for brands, those peeps tried to explain to your *ahem* retarded ass that that brand coincidentally resembles an english word. so sit back down. you`re not helping.

          • Madalina says:

At least we could blame your mother for having retarded children? :)

    • Miss Antipodes says:

Okay. Now the etymology of Assos?

  11. Mario. says:

    Blend-a-dent, or this new blend-a-ro-dent?
Wooh, lookie, it has dark colored stripes in it. Wooheee.

  12. DiRoman says:

Being the grand child of Italian immigrants and spending 3 years living in Tokyo, Japan and the ref to “ENGRISH”, I’d have to say that the “RO” in “RODENT” could just as likely be about retarded Italians and for the ASSOS cigs – would be more at Japanese Engrish – Ah so. Best comment was about giving a rat’s posterior IMO. LOL

  13. Sot says:

ASSOS = “Ace” in Greek, also an expression meaning top of the tops, or “first among the best”. Nothing Engrish there too. It’s a Greek word, and has been like that even before English talking people started saying “ass” instead of “arse” :)

  14. IRbaboon says:

Oh it’s true, we _don’t_ have a sense of humour. Why the heck you think Dracula was romanian? He certainly was not much of a joke teller :)

  15. cip says:

Well, it does sound funny in english, but it’s not a case of engrish. Why is that? Because you get a word/sentence in engrish when you try to translate from one language to english. This is not the case here, as this brand name is thought up for use in romanian speaking countries only.
    Case closed.
As for Dracula, he’s a fictional character. The man that was the inspiration for this character was just a smart ruler who tried to portray himself as someone who should be feared in order to keep Turkish invaders out. And he succeded at that because he is a feared character today. And I do not feel connected to communism in any way as I was born around the same time communism fell.

    • Madalina says:

Actually, you are wrong. You don’t seem to know much about Romanian history. Dracula was, in fact, Vlad Tepes, one of Vallachia’s rulers. “Draculea”, the Romanian form of modern “Dracula” means: son of Dracul( Vlad Dracul being Vlad Tepes’ father)

      • paws4thot says:

Here I can agree with you, up to a point. Bram Stoker’s fictional character “Count Dracula” was fictional, but Stoker’s inspirations in creating his character included Vlad Dracul and Vlad Tepes.

  16. laconejita says:

I am sorry, but I cannot get close to that. I have a fear of rodents, specially mice and rats. I can’t get close to them, even if they were made into a paste.

    • Madalina says:

You;re afraid of rodents? but you like rabbits :) conejo= rabbit in Spanish? conejita = feminine and diminutival form of “conejo”

  17. Yannis says:

Just for the clarification… ASSOS i indeed a Greek cigarette brand. It is the Greek word for “Ace” , or, in this case, a synonym for number one. This is the “international” flavour of the series. The traditional, original flavour had the number 1 within a 3/4 full circle. Hence, the name “Assos”. The logo still appears small in the bottom of the pack.

  18. gary says:

got to hand it to the marketing agent…
