  5. personn5 says:

wow. fail. Easy to take a LOTR clip and right in similar stuff.

  6. cybely says:

    “Why so serious”

    LOL

  7. Duckman says:

    WHY SO SERIOUS??

    • Pawk says:

      It’s fairly obvious this isn’t a bootleg.

Notice the voices are ENGLISH, and the text IS ENGLISH…

      What is he translating, exactly?

  8. Koki Kariya says:

That is actually pretty good translation software that picks up phoneics to that degree. I do like the “ass” for axe translation though. “Why so serious?” is so funny I near died even though it meant nothing when it originally came out.

    • !null says:

That’s what I was thinking too! I saw the still photos of this ages ago – and loved them – but now that TDK has come out, the “Why so serious?” holds so much more humour in it.

      • srshobbits says:

OMG I nearly fell outta bed when I saw the “Why So Serious?”
Do you think the Joker is a LOTR fan?
        XD

        • operator says:

“You wanna know how i got these scars? I was having a bad day walking around the streets of Osgilliath – i mean a really crazy bad day, wife left me, orcs ate the kids and a warg ate teh dog – when this strange little man sticks some crazy looking antique knife up to my face and asks me ‘WHY SO SERIOUS?!?!”

  9. Danger says:

    “Toast me”
    OMG XD I lol’d hard.

  10. DrunkAvril says:

This is highly suspicious to me…feels too much like a fake. Can anyone confirm?

    • Slashydutchie says:

I think I actually downloaded this one back in the day… but I always delete subtitled stuff. Just for this reason, actually. It’s always quite terrible.

  11. Jamezicarius says:

Hardly hilarious… more like mildly amusing.

    *gnarf*

  12. badcat says:

I say you got to toast me!

  13. rockandroar says:

Maybe I missed something, but why would a movie that’s in English have English subtitles, unless it’s intended for the hearing impaired?

  14. rosywhoistherosy says:

Your uncle is varied by your mall content!

    • Kit says:

I thought yuppie teens were varied by mall content… but I suppose I was wrong and it’s actually midevil fantasty world uncles that are. I admit defeat.

  15. Onion says:

He nailed it if you ask me.
These subtitles aren’t for people who can only read English. These are for the folks that can’t follow the plot.

  16. StealingBread says:

    Why so serious?!
    foreshadowing…

  17. panda says:

Looks fake as hell to me.

  18. Chris says:

WHY SO SERIOUS? WHY SO SERIOUS? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  19. Yuri says:

Too long I wanted my sister part seems so weird

  20. Viking says:

    Best. “Rine”. Ever!

  21. Muhahaha says:

toast me! what? i say you got to toast me! :D

  22. udaman says:

I am from Korea. Many people turn on English subtitle to learn English. They would not catch those English mistakes. I still don’t understand “Why So Serious?” Can someone explain? It is because the grammar is incorrect?

    • !null says:

Actually it’s not as funny because of a grammar issue, but because it was a very prominent and often-repeated line from the more recent (and extreeemely popular) movie “The Dark Knight”. :D

  23. Sparky says:

    Lol… Sam… “Why so serious?”

  24. lolbukkit says:

Should have been “wut food u got”. :(

“Toast me” was freaking hilarious. :D

  25. !null says:

Nope, I don’t know about the Star Wars one but this one is almost certainly real. As a few people mentioned above, when taking an English film illegally, the bootleggers aren’t going to bother translating it and are even less likely to dub it. The only reason they are put there is to attempt to make it easier for the intended nationality to understand.
(Believe me, reading the words along with listening to a person speak does make it way easier – I’ve only got a high school education in French, but turning subtitles on allows me to watch and fully understand French TV shows, namely Just for Laughs).
The “Why so serious” part is just an amazing coincidence. This particular bootleg of The Two Towers has been around for years; I’ve had a site with still photos of the bootleg bookmarked for about two and a half.

  26. ana says:

i didnt find this at all funny. the words were way off.

  27. Davey Jay says:

    RIP Heath Ledger.

  28. Scott says:

Um, why would they provide engrish translations of a movie spoken in english?

  29. Karen says:

    I have this dvd…
Funnies thing I have ever watched!

  30. drdistracto says:

    you must toast me

  31. Maria says:

This is not a fake. These subtitles are much older than Dark Night, of that I am certain. I have seen them years ago. Here are a few more, from FOTR and TTT. They are only pics, but if you remember the lines, you won’t need the audio.

    TTT: http://www.regretless.com/funny/Two_Towers_captions/00-20.htm

For those of you who have this release on DVD: No chance of sharing it? By torrent or something? I would love to have this!

  32. Sarah says:

thanks for the urls…they were neat

  33. a.s says:

    WHY…SO…whats the word

  34. Raindancer says:

Can you not see that your uncle is varied by your mall content?
    roflcopters :D
