What on EARTH were they trying to translate in the first place!? It looks to me like it was at least partially intentional.
The Japanese have an obsession with foreign languages, especially English. They have a whole separate alphabet just for foreign words. They love to make up English nonsense and put it on shirts. This isn’t a translation of anything, someone just thought it would be cool to put it on a shirt.
I think it’s just Americans who make some of the shirts for the hell of it. Though most of them are complete nonsense and random letters that aren’t intended to make much sense.

Actually, just say Asia. Used to live in a Central Asian country and my weekend entertainment was going to the bazaar and look at the chinese shirts that were being sold to girls… they said, “RAPE ME”.

Actually, the theory is still sound, because I saw that exact same shirt in Kyoto while I was there. I thought it was the funniest thing ever and I had that nice flash of recognition when I saw this picture! It’s like knowing someone famous
They do NOT have an alphabet only for foreign words. The katakana date back from ancient Buddhist monks who used only a part of the full hydeogram to write notes on their sutra texts.
I’m sorry, but after having studying japanese language for fours years, I don’t like misinformation about that to spread. :p

Not all asian countries. Singapore and Malaysia’s command of the english language is not that bad. I think China, Taiwan, HongKong, Korea and Japan’s english is, well, cringe worthy though.
