Sorry, yes.
All ‘cancers’ are neoplasias, but not all neoplasias are ‘cancer’, as per The American Cancer Society. You are correct.
I bow to your yelling.

Oh, yeah, I forgot-
Benign does not mean harmless when discussing ‘cancer’, what it does indicate is non-malignant. Deaths due to benign tumors do occur.
Benign tumors can tread the threshold of malignancy and malignant tumors can also brush close to the definition of benign tumors and therefore blur the lines of ‘cancer’ definition. How about a tumor with an extremely accelerated growth, but a propensity not to metastasize nor grow back? Perhaps a tumor that is locally invasive, but is characterized as non-metastatic and slow growing. Or maybe a tumor with accelerated growth of dysmorphic cells, but little chance of metastasis and may or may not invade underlying tissue? Or a metastatic tumor that is described as benign. Or make up your own combination and join the debate of benign vs. malignant today! The definition can be very blurry.
What does this mean? Cancer is bad stuff and benign is good stuff as per The American Cancer Society and that is all you need to know and the only thing your doctor needs to tell you.

So yes, you are correct, there are no benign cancers.

I stand by my original comment there is NO SUCH THING as BENIGN cancer. The tumor or neoplasia or new growth can be considered benign (harmless) or malignant (cancerous).
