It’s lucky this post is from the period when I subscribed for emails of new comments. I didn’t recognise your new face in the “Your Yacks …” list. (I kinda wish I had that one).
What’s going on?
I dusted it off and dragged it out of storage.
I’m not spending much time on engrish so much nowadays, and I didn’t want to lose track of you, too.
Do you want a long distance friend? I was sort of thinking of a chess partner. I am a rank beginner, and don’t have a huge amount of free time anymore, but it’s still something I’d like to do.
This is worth trying. I haven’t played chess in a loooong time, but I’m sure I could pick it up again.
The part that really got me thinking is- how do we do this? I found a site called chess.com but I don’t know how to connect with any particular person there. I’ve never played on-line games.
Do you already have something in mind?
Oh, good! No plan in mind, I just want to spend my time in front of a computer doing something real and I have had chess in mind for awhile. Is there any secure way to email within the cheez? I skimmed chess.com and that could work.
Also, a bluejade is conversant in this sort of thing. I’ll see what she suggests.
OK, I registered on chess.com. Looks good, but I can’t see how to contact anyone without knowing their email address.
There’s a site called knightschessclub.org, which is YaBB site. I’m registered on a YaBB technical site where it’s possible to send private messages to other members without knowing their email address.
I’ll investigate further when I have time.

Hmm, the knight site is giving me trouble… I am using an older operating system. That may the problem. I’ll keep looking.
Chess.com gives you an email on site. Very cool. There is now a blue jade email. It’s a nice site. Now all I gotta do is learn to play chess.

BTW- is there an app in your Apps folder called “Chess”? I found it in mine today.

Yes, I do have that app, and thought of using it, but there was still the issue of connecting. At the moment, the site looks easier. I haven’t had roaring success working my way through teh apps, and changing the OS is on the horizon.
